Today, I am grateful for:
- The feeling of serenity that comes with leaving a few minutes early, not having to rush.
- Spring-planted flowers are surviving the summer heat, so far.
- Planning a short trip with Dan, sans child. As much as I adore my child, I am surprised at how much I am looking forward to some couple time.
- Having a good relationship with the stepchild. What an awesome kid! And his mom isn’t too bad, either.
- Recognizing that what I really wanted and didn’t get would have been a mess; what I didn’t want but got anyways was a blessing in disguise. Perhaps a reminder to give up trying to control so much and have some more faith?
Today, I am grateful for:
- People who pull over when an emergency vehicle is approaching with their lights and sirens going.
- The men and women in those police cars, fire trucks and ambulances; and for all the under-appreciated things they do for the community.
- Fresh strawberries!
- Dan. That man takes such good care of me.
- Warm, beautiful, refreshing sunlight.
Today, I am grateful for:
- The new grocery store by my house gives you a 5-cent discount for each of your re-usable bags you bring in to use instead of paper or plastic. I LOVE when corporations reward their customers for being green.
- This new grocery store has a machine for grinding your own peanut and almond butter. Very cool!
- As I finished loading groceries into my car, a man wheeled his cart to the car parked next to mine. As I returned from the cart corral he was pushing his cart out into an empty parking spot. We made eye contact. I smiled, looked at his cart & raised my eyebrows, and looked back at him. He made a grumbly face, but got his cart and walked it to the corral. Really, I think the world would be a better place if we all picked up after ourselves a bit more.
- As a combined birthday present, Dan’s parents are going to take Frannie for a few days so that we can have some couple time.
- Finding a new favorite musical group: Kings of Leon.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Inspiration coming from unexpected sources.
- Progress with potty training. The end is in sight!
- Learning what stresses me out, so that I can reduce (or eliminate) these things.
- Flipping the pillow over and laying my face on the sweet coolness of the other side.
- Falling asleep to rain. I know it’s not an origianl for me, but it’s high on tonight’s list.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Green lights all the way to work, then all the way home. What a lucky treat - that has never happened before.
- Asking Dan his opinion of something, and hearing him tell me exactly what I was thinking. I love the way we click.
- There’s a little extra cash in the budget this month - we can pay down our credit cards a bit more.
- My coworker returned safely from her trip to Mexico. With the violence on the news, I was worried. She said she had no problems and everyone (Mexican military at checkpoints included) were really great.
- Watching the “moonset” in the west as the eastern sky turned pink and orange. Beautiful!
